Phil Haack at the University of Hawaii at Manoa

Phil Haack @ UHM

Recently, Phil Haack gave a supurb talk at the University of Hawaii at Manoa regarding GitHub. Its rare that we get a speaker who is so ethusiastic and easy to relate to. There are a few people I’d like to thank for helping us organize the event:

  1. Phil himself - he volunteered his time, even though he was on vacation here in Hawaii!
  2. Kyle Oba - who helped us get into contact with Phil
  3. Monica Udema - who helped me get into contact with Kyle
  4. GitHub - for overall being awesome and sponsoring catering for the event from da spot

A video from the talk is still pending, but in the meanwhile, you can find another talk as well as some other talks on YouTube as well.

I honestly enjoyed the opportunity to have a speaker from a relatively well-known company, and definitely enjoyed the talk about the modern software development industry.
We don’t get nearly as many speakers as we should, but maybe thats because no one wants to work while they’re on vacation! But if theres anyone else out there who wants to come out and talk, the sun is good year round… and we won’t bite, I promise!

Again, thanks Phil and GitHub for being awesome!
